In a medium sauce pan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add asparagus spears to the boiling water. Return to a boil, then immediately reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes or until tender and season with salt, pepper and butter to taste.
TO STEAM:
In a steamer, cover the bottom of pan with water (about ¼ – ½ cup of water) and bring to a boil. Add asparagus, cover, reduce heat to medium and steam for 5 minutes. Stir after 2 minutes, Season with salt and pepper.
HOW TO PREPARE ASPARRAGUS IN VINAIGRETTE:
In an 8-inch skillet over medium heat, cook asparagus, using ¼ tsp. salt
In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, oil, water, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper until well-blended. Add pimento.
Pour over hot asparagus. Coo, over low heat, spooning vinaigrette over the asparagus until heated through

Place frozen whole French beans in a microwave-safe dish. Add 2 tbsp. of water and microwave on high for 3 minutes (due to differences in microwave ovens, cooking times may vary). Stir after 2 minutes. Season to taste and serve.
STOVE TOP:
Pour frozen beans directly from the bag into a sauce pan, cover with water just over the top of the beans. Bring to a boil, but do not cover with a lid and cook about 2 1/2 – 3 minutes. Drain completely and pour into a serving dish, season with salt and pepper, add 1 tbsp. of butter and a pinch of sugar, mix and serve.
HOW TO PREPARE FAST, TASTY SAUTÉED FRENCH BEANS:
Heat oil in a large sauce pan over high heat.
When oil is not, add the frozen beans.
Cook the beans stirring every 30 seconds until all of the ice has melted and water evaporated (about 5 minutes).
Add salt, pepper and sugar, and sauté until beans are starting to brown
Remove from heat and serve.
Spicy Sautéed: Add chili sauce to the recipe and stir until well-coated
America’s Favorite chili pepper is a thick-fleshed bright green pepper that can be lovingly incorporated into just about anything, from soups to Lemonade. They have a very good tasting pods that are great for salsa and pickling. Jalapeños are also wonderful when roasted. You can roast them over an open flame until the skins char and bubble, then peel them off. Or you can broil or bake them to roast them.

HOW TO COOK:
Sauteing or adding spinach to soup is an easy way to defrost it. During the process of cooking, the spinach will thaw while being heated very quickly. This method will eliminate the need to thaw separately before preparing it.
If you want to thaw spinach while cooking it, simply add it to the meal you are cooking and allow it to defrost in the process as most of the water will evaporate while cooking. This method is a great way to preserve vitamins and minerals by not draining the water the spinach is in.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Drop the sugar snap peas into the pot of rapidly boiling water and cook for just 1 1/2 minutes.
ON MICROWAVE:
In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the peas and water. Cover and cook on high for 3-5 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain.

Snow peas are sweet, flat and tender. They grow in a temperate climate in nutritious volcanic Guatemalan soil.

To Microwave: Add peas and water to a microwave safe bowl. Cover with a microwave safe lid or a plate and microwave on high for 4 minutes for fresh peas, and 1-2 minutes for frozen peas. Remove from the microwave and stir and microwave for another minute and then drain.
To Boil: Bring 1 cup of water for each cup of peas or edible-pod peas to a boil in a pot; add peas. Cover and cook until tender-crisp, 2 to 4 minutes; drain.
To Steam: Combine peas and 1/4 cup water in a medium saucepan. Cover and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook stirring once or twice lowering heat as needed to maintain a simmer, until peas are tender, 6 to 8 minutes. Drain peas, return to pan, and stir in butter, herbs, salt and pepper.
To Roast: Place them in a bowl and mix together with olive oil, garlic powder and salt. Pour peas into the oven and cook on 350°F for approximately 15 minutes. Shake the basket every few minutes to ensure even cooking. They’re ready when they are nice and crispy.

To cook frozen kale, place 1 cup of water in the pot for every 2 cups of frozen kale. Cover the pot with a lid. Immerse the kale in the boiling water.
